Okay everyone lets be serious!
Jet lag – This is a real deal breaker when it comes to your decision-making when purchasing clothes. You do not want to do this when you are in this condition because you will come out looking like a non slip bath mat or you might feel like a sprinkled donut who just had a bad manicure.
As a flight attendant I live and breathe with Jet Lag, She has basically become a part of me. So, Let’s define this word:
Jet Lag: extreme tiredness and other physical effects felt by a person after a long flight across different time zones.
My biggest advice would be is to make sure you sleep on the current time zone that your about to enter into that country. Sleeping on the plane is now a habit that I am use to which I am afraid that when I go on a “real” vacation I won’t truly enjoy that “plane experience.” Within saying that, Another reason some people get so effected by being Jet Lagged is due to their excited nature of travelling abroad. You are so excited to get to your cocktail drinking contiki tour or your camel riding experience in Dubai’s desert safari.
When you use this energy on the plane you will have a huge comedown which will lead you into unexplained moodiness and a possible caffeine addiction. Well, I did anyway.
For me as a flight attendant it can be so exhausting especially when your dealing with Jet Lag, so honestly sleep is my best friend when I am away. I try to have a good rest the night before a flight and also defiantly sleep on the plane. Some times I feel flight attendants deserve an Oscar. Not only do we have to deal with jet lag but we also have to keep a vibrant, positive & comforting experience for you guys!
I also recommend staying hydrated and eating sensible. I find when I do longer 14 hour trips it can take a full day to recover, but with the right mind-set and attitude you will overcome these issue and truly start to enjoy your holidaying time. Everyone handles jet lag differently, so you should know your own body and find the appropriate actions to help with Jet lag.
I also find changing your watch to the correct timezone of the country your about to enter helps with my mental ability. It makes me focus on that current time so I can work my body clock towards it.
